SPRING FLING 2007
is HISTORY

Although our spirits might have been dampened with 4 inches of rain on Friday night--the rain certainly didn't hold anyone back from attending!  This was our best-attended Spring Fling yet. We had visitors from as California, Nevada, Connecticut, Ohio, the Carolinas, New Hampshire, New York, just to name a few. And we want to thank all attendees for cooperating with us by using the Free Parking at the Museum and Free Shuttle Service (compliments of Wolf's Bus Lines of York Springs, PA) to the Memorial Annex especially since the 4 inches of rain prohibited us from parking any additional vehicles on our grassy areas.

Friday - June 1 - Work Day
A surprise visitor on our workday:
a 1930 Model AA Ford!
Putting up new Showcase in our "office" building
Washing AND waxing the buses was tough in the 90 degree heat!
On previous workdays, buses were taken out of the Annex and carefully lined up for display.

After the dedication of the building, I was able to snap a few pictures outside of members of the families of those honored who were in attendance.  I am sorry that I was unable to get Mr. Dotter's family -- my apologies for not having their picture. If anyone was able to get a picture with them, please email it to me to include on this page. (Thanks to Bob Beard for the pictures below).

Oh, and let's not forget all the great cooking done by our Chaplain, Pastor Dan Lehman.  He not only fed us Saturday, but managed to feed all the workers on previous work days.  Thank you Dan.
We would like to thank all who contributed in any way to the success of the 2007 Spring Fling.  And, remember, we are ALL volunteers--we had grass to mow, flowers to plant, weeds to be pulled and "wacked", buses to be moved and be cleaned, floors swept, bathrooms cleaned, shelves created and displays arranged, food to be cooked, tables and chairs to be set up and taken down.  I'm sure I missed a few things that were accomplished, so forgive me--just remember, we can't do it without YOU!

Check back from time-to-time as people send me their photos from the Spring Fling.
